Calvary Chapel On-Going Ministry

What began as Ojai Valley Bible Study in June of 1998 became Calvary Chapel of the Ojai Valley as we began Sunday morning services on Easter 2000. When local pastor’s gathered to lay hands in prayer and bless the ministry of Pastor Dan, Pastor Mike Moore of Chapel by the Pines was among them. Later that year, when Pastor Mike would be leaving for 5 weeks in the mission field, he would invite Pastor Dan and Calvary Chapel Ojai Valley to do joint services at Chapel by the Pines. Pastor Dan gave the messages, worship teams combined, and children’s ministry and ushers teamed together. It proved to be quite a venture. During those weeks people were calling us “Calvary Chapel by the Pines”.

Since that time, these two congregations did joint outreaches for Vacation Bible Schools and Halloween Alternatives as well as special programs and a 4^th of July BBQ. Further, an invitation was extended for Calvary Chapel to hold mid-week services there, Calvary Kids Club, and Youth programs. Also, we have held special classes such as Christian Basics, How To Study The Bible, Raising Great Kids, and special nights of worship.

Since 2000, Calvary Chapel Ojai Valley has ministered in many varied capacities to hundreds of men, women, youth, and children. It is a place of local ministry activity and community outreach. Our goal in this project is to continue what has begun, to see lives changed, and the community impacted, in Jesus’ name.
